Born and raised in Detroit Lakes, Chris Graduated from Detriot Lakes High School in 2001. He then went on to earn a 4 year Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Minnesota State University Mankato. An internship turned into a Project Management position with a General Contractor in the Twin Cities. Chris was involved with several commercial projects before taking a position in the U.S. Oil and Gas industry. There he was a MWD field engineer. While still traveling for work, Chris moved back to Detroit Lakes in 2011. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, traveling, spending time at the lake, flying his drone, and more! With his background in construction management and his network of personal and business contacts, Chris brings a unique edge and wealth of knowledge to the real estate world! He is currently a licensed Real Estate Agent in Minnesota and North Dakota. Additionally. Chris became owner of The Real Estate Company of Detroit Lakes in April of 2021.

Chris Nord was great to work with in both buying and selling our house in Detroit Lakes.He helped us get a good deal when we purchased the place as an investment property in 2015 and the whole buying process was very smooth.When I called him in the fall of 2018 to see about having him list the house for sale he immediately remembered me and the property even though we hadn't spoken in 3 years. He provided some good suggestions on what we should do to get the place ready for sale and helped us come up with the asking price.He brought over a prospective buyer the day the listing went up and we had an offer by 8:00 that evening.He did a great job of communicating with us through the whole process leading up to closing. He also kept an eye on the place after our tenant moved out (we don't live in the DL area) and he even lined up an exterminator to take care of a small wasp problem. I would strongly recommend Chris Nord to anyone looking for a friendly and knowledgeable real estate agent.
