I have been a Real Estate Agent since 1986 when interest rates were at 16%! Even though interest rates were so high, I won the Award of Rookie of Year. I thought that was the norm and kept on selling and listing homes. I build up my data base and had plenty of referrals to make it through the tough times as I now know they were. We did not have cell phones, we had beepers and would pull over to use a pay phone, computers for our Multiple Listing Service (MLS), we had a book like a phone book to see homes, that book came out every two weeks. Lockboxes, were out of the questions, we had to go to each Real Estate Office to pick up keys then take the keys back. Those were tough times as I know see it, so if the computer went down, or interest rates creeped to 7% nothing fazes me now. Go with the flow, remember you will not be married to the interest rate.
